It isn't just the tired out Mums and Dads that could do with some rest and relaxation some time, children need it too. Whether they had a busy day at school or are just ready for some quieter time we have some great ideas here of relaxing activities. Can you think of more?

  • Take turns reading to each other (made up stories from picture books, chapters in stories books or even comic)
  • Make milkshakes or smoothies
  • Paint your nails together
  • Have a spa night using stuff from the kitchen, like natural yoghurt, oatmeal and honey
  • Look through old photo albums together
  • Watch your children's favourite TV show or movie together
  • Pull out a box of toys they haven't played with for a while for quiet play time
  • Build models together out of Lego, K’NEX or Meccano, or any other building toys
